To celebrate the first birthday of the She Darks Me blog, November 8th will see the exclusive online release of a special 5-track Ep by Joe Chester called Contre La Montre. Available to stream or download only at www.shedarksme.wordpress.com it will also include downloadable CD artwork. The EP contains cover versions of songs by Johnny Cash, The Beach Boys, Prince and Bruce Springsteen, originally recorded for radio sessions between 2005 and 2010. The Ep will be free to download, but there will also be a DONATE button to enable people to pay if they so desire.

I’m just packing above amp away, having finished the guitars for the album (I hope!). Onward to more recording next month, and hopefully mixing in December. Thinking back to the first recordings in January, it strikes me that, while it seems like ages ago, practically housebound because of the ice and snow, in fact we could be starting and finishing an album in less than a year, something which excites me and provides extra motivation, were it needed. I’m still very much in love with this album, and loving the process of making it. Now if I could just figure out a way of getting the songs written quicker…

I notice that it’s the first birthday of this blog soon. I wonder how to celebrate it.
